The end of Beef Jerky as we know it
As I sit writing this a thought occurs to me there are hundreds perhaps thousands of readers about to make a decision based on this article. Ok perhaps I am being a little optimistic but the question still beckons with peoples taste changing as they are is beef jerky dead.
Well firstly you would find that for some of the die hard jerky addicts beef jerky will never die, and with the growth and competition in the market there is always a new jerky for them to savior.
The real purpose of the writings here is how beef jerky stacks up against non beef alternative and by this I mean camel. Camel jerky is currently being made in the north of Australia from wild camels. It is definitely one of the new jerky’s that is giving the old beef a run and introducing a new bread of addicts..
Camel jerky is much leaner meat and one it could be argued healthier with less fat and lower chemicals, and because of how it is grown more used to dry harsh enviroment, something that unfortunately makes it closer to jerky than beef.
Camel has a flavorsome taste that is much tastier than beef and takes you on another taste trip that if followed would open your eyes to a new sensation, something that will definitely provide a healthy taste alternative to beef.
Even though camels and cattle have huge differences the fact is this jerky is quiet close to beef after all they do eat much the same fodder.
If we take into account the growth of Camel jerky and it availability, the question is will it knock of the entrenched favorite as a snack for Jerky lovers.
The short answer is NO, beef jerky is here to stay but you must not let your taste buds down and get out and try some of the newer jerkys on the market, specifically camel jerky, you won’t be disappointed.
